I’d like to take credit for gathering this fantastic team of athletes together and inspiring them to cycle from one end of the UK to the other. However, it is my son Fraser who takes all the credit. He died at the age of 2˝ years in October 2007. He had an extremely rare condition which meant we knew from birth that his life expectancy would not be high. It still came as a shock when we suddenly lost him late last year. He was a wonderful little boy, and fitted more into his short life than you could possibly imagine. He required care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week which puts enormous strain on a family. Thanks to CHASE, I still have a job and a marriage, and we have some wonderful memories of the fun times we had as a family. Thanks to Fraser’s determination to enjoy life, I and the other riders have been inspired to invest a great deal of time training for this event in order to enable the wonderful work done by CHASE to continue.
